OPPO Reno and OPPO Reno 10x Zoom: What’s the difference and which one is the best for you?
KUALA LUMPUR, 28 May 2019 — OPPO’s latest Reno series is bringing a new wave of creativity to Malaysia. Designed with an edge, this is a series crafted for those who are not afraid to express their individualism, are ready to seize opportunities and make the best out of their moments. The series so far has two fascinating models including the OPPO Reno and the OPPO Reno 10x hybrid zoom version. While alike in their physical features and style, the two are radically different when it comes to performance, price and photography.
The OPPO Reno series is leading the full-screen revolution with peculiar slider mechanism of swivel pop-up camera and elimination of the notch. The Reno 10x Zoom adopts a 6.6-inch OLED screen, while the Reno adopts 6.4-inch OLED screen, both version are made of 6th generation Corning® Gorilla® Glass, providing a panoramic full-screen display, FHD+ resolution, and a screen-to-body ratio of 93.1%, means more innovation and a more attractive choice.
One the main difference between the series is the Central Processing Unit (CPU) and performance. OPPO Reno is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 710 which offers competent mid-range-level performance. While the flagship, OPPO Reno 10x Zoom is much more powerful, equipped with Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 – meeting excessive demands on gaming and the current on-the-go lifestyle. Both devices can be obtained with RAM of up to 8GB and maximum internal storage of 256GB.
In terms of camera, the OPPO Reno 10x hybrid Zoom has all these unique features that make it more competitive: 48MP + 13MP + 8MP triple cameras, 10x hybrid optical zoom, periscope lens, dual IOS optical image stabilization, 120° wide-angle lens, laser focus sensor, and dual LED lights. The 1cm length of the traditional telephoto camera is reduced to 50% with the periscope reflecting the light in the ultra-thin body.
With the 13MP telescope camera and the 8MP ultra wide-angle camera, the focal length of OPPO Reno 10x Zoom can be varied continuously from 16 – 160mm, guaranteeing free composition in photography and capturing tiny details even from a distance.
While for the OPPO Reno, the main 48-megapixel sensor is supported by a 5-megapixel secondary camera, which adds depth data. Both the device also features Ultra Night Mode 2.0 that leverage Artificial Intelligence (AI), High-Dynamic Range, and multi-frame noise reduction to achieve high quality photos even in low light.
In its effort to deliver full-screen experience without the disturbance of display notch, OPPO has implemented unique looking selfie camera into its Reno series. Fondly referred to by many as the shark fin pop up selfie camera, the module contains a 16MP f/2.0 camera and its own LED flash.
