Vivo Malaysia today officially launched new updates for their popular V-series smartphones. We last saw the Vivo V9 is back in March 2018, and today, the Chinese company is bringing in two flavours of the latest V-series for us – the regular V11, and the cheaper V11i.
While previous V-series Vivo smartphones usually arrives in one flavour, this time, there’s two variants available. The V11 will be taking a brand new segment in the smartphone market for Vivo, while the V11i will be responsible for being the replacement of the V9.
The V11 features numerous improvements over the V9. For starters, it features the same small notch on the top of the display, which houses a 25-megapixel front-facing camera. The display is now a Super AMOLED unit, measuring at 6.41-inches and has a screen-to-body ratio of 91.27%. It also features the same in-display fingerprint reader as found on the X21 and NEX. There’s also a 12-megapixel and 5-megapixel combo for the rear cameras, which Vivo promised that it’ll perform well in low-light photography. There’s also a wide range of A.I. assistance for both cameras.
Specs wise, the V11 is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 660 AIE processor, paired with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage. It also features dual-band WiFi and Bluetooth 5.0 for connectivity, but charging and data transfer is still handled by a microUSB port. It also has a 3400mAh battery built-in.
Since the V11 has been moved up a notch, the V11i now takes place where the V9 used to be. The display is now 6.3-inch, a tad smaller than the V11, but features the same Super AMOLED display. It also lacks the in-display fingerprint reader, and had to rely on one that’s at the back of the device. The camera combination remains the same as the V11 – a 25-megapixel up front, and a combination of 12-megapixel and 5-megapixel for the rear.
What’s new for the V11i is that Vivo now has turned to Mediatek for supplies for the processor of the V11i – it’s now powered by their P60 processor, paired with 4GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage. A smaller 3315mAh battery is built-in to the V11i.
The V11 will be retailed at RM1699, while the V11i will continue to be priced at RM1299, which is the same as the V9. Both devices will be available in two colours – Nebula and Starry Night, and will be available for purchase online or at Vivo concept stores. The V11 will be available first on 15th September 2018, while the V11i will be available later on 21st September 2018.
You can pre-order both the Vivo V11 and V11i from their official Lazada store, Shopee store, 11street store, Vivo concept stores and retailers such as Directd and Senheng right now, and each of them are throwing in lots of freebies.
