iPhone 8 and 8 Plus are now official, retailed from USD 699
iPhone X is the spotlight of Apple’s launch event today. But iPhone 8 and 8 Plus did not go unnoticed with some improvements to carry the lineup on their own.
There are minor changes on the exterior look of the new iPhone 8 lineup. The new model comes with glass on the front and back, the latest Apple A11 Bionic six-core chipset, new cameras, louder stereo speakers and new durable glass. The 4.7-inch and 5.5-inch screens are offered with same resolution as the iPhone 7/7 Plus.
Plus, you still get 3D Touch, Cinema Wide Color Gamut and True Tone. Of course, the flagship standard water resistant are added too.
The new iPhone 8 and 8 Plus come with a glass front and with a series 7000 aluminum frame in between. For imaging, the rear cameras again uses a 12MP resolution but with an improved ISP. The A11 Bionic chip works with that to enable faster low light focusing, improved sharpness and dynamic range, and lower noise. There’s also support for 4K@60fps and 1080p@240fps video recording.
The main shooter adopts a 12MP sensor with f/1.8 aperture, the iPhone 8 Plus comes with a secondary telephoto camera of 12MP resolution and f/2.8 aperture.
The iPhone 8 Plus now also sports Portrait Lighting feature. The dual camera on the iPhone 8 Plus scans the scene, identifies the face of your subject and adjusts the tone curve of the face to make it better lit.
The A11 Bionic chip provides two high-powered cores that are 25% faster than the A10 Fusion. The other four cores are power efficient and are 70% faster than the two low-power cores in the A10 Fusion. The GPU is the first Apple-made one and is comprised of 3 cores, promising 30% faster performance compared to the GPU inside the A10 Fusion.
The iPhone 8 and 8 Plus now also support Qi Wireless Charging and fast charging in which you can get from flat to 50% in 30 minutes.
