vivo NEX S with 5G network spotted in trial
Chinese handset maker Vivo has announced it has successfully trialed a 5G-ready smartphone. The NEX S was added in a Qualcomm X50 modem during the trial.
Back in February, Qualcomm revealed that Snapdragon X50 modem. X50 modem comes with 5G-ready connectivity. X50 is expected to be integrated into next Snapdragon Flagship Chipset which possible dubbed as Snapdragon 855. That should mean vivo maybe announcing new vivo Nex S with 5G connectivity that feature Snapdragon 855 which has yet confirm by Qualcomm.
It is also expected that vivo will be the first smartphone manufacturer to release 5G enabled smartphone followed by vivo became the first brand to include under-screen fingerprint scanner feature in its smartphone.
“The next step ahead of vivo towards its development of an actual 5G phone is entering further Interoperability Data Testing (IODT) with 5G infrastructure and networking equipment with the modified NEX S. The company says its ultimate goal is launching its first batch of commercial 5G devices by 2019,” the report added.
5G is the Fifth-generation wireless or the the latest iteration of cellular technology, engineered to greatly increase the speed and responsiveness of wireless networks. How fast is 5g in Mbps? Theoretically, 5G network speeds capable of 20 Gigabits per second (Gbps).
