Next Oppo Find X could pack whooping 10GB of RAM
The RAM size race that is started by Android phones never cease since it has taken its pace. With Chinese manufacturers joining the race, the speed in it became even more out of the world.
We are seeing – or going to see – 8GB RAM in lots of 2018 flagship phones, which rivals lots of desktop PCs and laptops nowadays. And seems like Oppo is not going to stop here.
Oppo is apparently going to release a version of the Oppo Find X with 10GB RAM. The news comes via leaker Ice Universe who spotted the phone on TENAA. If it’s legit, this would be the first mainstream phone to come with this amount of RAM.
The listing says the 10GB RAM version of the phone will come with 256GB storage; just like the existing model, though it doesn’t say when Oppo is planning to release the device or if it will come to markets outside China. The original Find X arrived with 8GB of RAM.
That brings us to the question of just why Oppo feels the need to release a phone with that much RAM. When reviewing the Find X, David Immel found that despite it performing well overall, the phone had poor RAM management. Perhaps Oppo thinks shoving another 2GB of RAM in there will counter this.
Will having more RAM convince you to buy a device which you otherwise won’t? Or do you think that current config of 4 to 8GB RAM is more than enough?
