Actual Huawei Mate 20 Pro photos confirm phone design
We have been treated to more and more Huawei Mate 20 Pro information recently as we edge nearer to the announcement event on October 16. A new set of photos that have surfaced recently are said to be shots of the phablet itself in its true form – not renders or firmware files.
The photos, released by famous serial leaker SlashLeaks, are supposedly taken on the show floor of the just-concluded IFA 2018. From the photo, we can clearly see the design of the back with the unique rumoured triple-camera arrangements in a jacuzzi-like square.
At the same time, another photo of a gorgeous red Mate 20 surfaced on the web. The Mate 20 in question is absolutely stunning in this new cherry-red colourway. Notice the fingerprint scanner on the photo. We suspect this should be the more budget-friendly version of the Mate 20 since it would be unnecessary to include both under-screen fingerprint scanner and a back one.
We are pretty sure we will be served with more information as all eyes are on the Mate 20 Pro now as it certainly looks like it will be one of the most interesting phones of 2018.
Most notable hardware spec of the flagship is probably the all-new Kirin 980 processor that will be powering it. The processor is touted to be the strongest AI processor yet by its maker, carrying dual-NPUs for super-fast image recognition of up to 4000 per minute. Built on the 7nm manufacturing process, it is also expected to be operating up to 178% more efficiently energy-wise.
Graphics wise, the SoC will be powered by the freshly outed Mali-G76 GPU which promised a 46% improvement in graphical prowess compared to its predecessor, the Mate 10 Pro.
Other notable features include a super-tiny waterdrop notch display, 3D facial recognition front camera, under-screen fingerprint scanner, and of course the star of the show, the Leica-certified triple camera setup.
