Xiaomi Mi 8X appearance exposed by Xiaomi CEO
Xiaomi Mi 8 SE is the first ever smartphone that is powered by Snapdragon 710 processor. Rumours have it that Xiaomi upcoming Mi 8X will be the second device from the company to run Snapdragon 710 SoC. A tipster from China has shared some images of an upcoming Xiaomi device which is possible to be the Mi 8X.
The leaked images showed that Mi 8X will come in at least two colour options which are blue and white. What makes the phone look interesting is that there’s no fingerprint scanner on the rear panel. It is believed that the device will come with Xiaomi in-screen display fingerprint scanner.
Another leakster has claimed that the upcoming Mi Note could be replaced by the Mi 8X. He has shared another image which shows Xiaomi CEO Lei Jun holding a mysterious dual camera smartphone that lacks a rear-facing fingerprint scanner. It appears that Jun could be holding the mysterious Xiaomi Mi 8X smartphone.
Earlier this year, XDA Developers has revealed that upcoming Xiaomi devices are codenamed as Sirius and Comet. With Sirius released as Mi 8 SE, the other device could be the Mi 8X. The leaked firmware files of the Comet phone have revealed that it is a Mi series smartphone with OLED screen. The display of the phone carries support for Always-On Display (AOD) feature. However, the screen may not feature a notch.
The Mi 8X will arrive preinstalled with Android 8.1 Oreo. Some of its other rumored features include 3,000mAh battery, dual-SIM support and IR blaster. The leaked firmware files have revealed that it will not be featuring a microSD card slot and it won’t carry support for NFC.
In the upcoming month, Xiaomi may be bringing the Mi Mix 3. The handset is expected to come with a notch-less display and it other rumored features include in-display fingerprint scanner, pop-up selfie camera, Snapdragon 845 SoC and Qi wireless charging enabled battery. Who knows, maybe Xiaomi could surprise us on the launch event with Mi 8X?
