Xiaomi Mi 8 spotted in SIRIM database and appears on Xiaomi official website
Over the past few months, Xiaomi have been focusing on the midrange and entry level segments in our market. However, we expecting things to change for them as the Mi 8 has been spotted at SIRIM Malaysia recently.
Plus, the Mi 8 has also made its official appearance on Xiaomi Malaysia’s website too. This is actually not a coincidence as Mi 8 has already been in the market since May, now is an appropriate time for it to showcase in Malaysia.
According to Xiaomi’s official website, there will be two storage options for the Mi 8: 6GB RAM+64GB ROM and 6GB RAM+128GB ROM. As for the color choices, you will be getting Blue, Black and White models.
Specifications wise, the Mi 8 features a 6.21″ Samsung AMOLED full screen with 18.7:9 aspect ratio. It supports always on display feature as often seen on Samsung flagship smartphones. The Mi 8 uses notched display to provide the face unlocked feature. Under the hood, it uses the Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 AIE processor with the highest frequency of 2.8GHz. Coupled with a maximum of 6GB RAM +256GB UFS 2.1 memory configuration. Built-in 3400mAh battery that supports QC 4.0+ fast charge. Mi 8 is the world’s first dual-band GPS smartphone. It also supports dual-sim dual 4G and VoLTE high-definition voice calls.
Mi 8 offers the same 12 MP+12 MP zoom dual camera lens as the MIX 2s. The cameras support AI scene. It can identify 206 kinds of scenes, and supports 7 kinds of AI studio lighting effects. It also scored as high as 105 points on DxOMARK. The front lens is 20 MP and also supports AI beauty features.
