Samsung Galaxy Note 9 Is Official In Malaysia!
It was only last Thursday when Samsung unveiled the newest member of the Galaxy Note series to the world – the Galaxy Note 9, unveiled in New York City, and today, the Korean smartphone manufacturer are already making it official for the Malaysian market with their grand launch here on Wednesday at Axiata Arena, Bukit Jalil Stadium.
This is the first time that the Galaxy Note 9 is available this quickly here in Malaysia. Previous Note devices arrives in Malaysia only a month later after the global launch.
Like the Galaxy S9, the Galaxy Note 9 looks pretty much the same as its predecessor. The curved glass covering the front and back of the device, with a metal band in the middle that also acts as the chassis for the device are still on the Galaxy Note 9. With that said, the dimensions are pretty much identical to its predecessor, and same goes for the weight.
The front features Samsung’s infamous Infinity Display has been bumped to 6.4-inches, the largest we’ve seen on Galaxy Note devices. It’s still in its 18.5:9 display ratio, and while their highly praised SuperAMOLED panel has been around for a while now, on the Note 9, it’s been praised again by the experts behind DisplayMate, setting records for “very high absolute color accuracy” and set a record for maximum brightness.
The Galaxy Note 9 is powered by their own Exynos 9810 processor, cooled by Samsung’s Water Carbon Cooling System. 2 configurations are available at launch – with 6GB of RAM paired with 128GB of storage, or 8GB of RAM paired with 512GB storage. Both configurations still support microSD cards up to 512GB for storage expansion. On the rear, the camera setup consists of a pair of 12-megapixel cameras, with a front-facing 8-megapixel front-facing selfie camera. The Bluetooth S Pen is also new, which allows you to remotely trigger actions. The spec list finishes off 4000mAh capacity battery, which makes it the largest in the Galaxy smartphone line-up. It continues to be IP-68 rated for waterproof and dustproof.
The Galaxy Note 9 will be available in 4 colours – Ocean Blue, Midnight Black, Lavender Purple and Metallic Copper. Our market will be missing out on Lavender Purple for the moment, which we expect a later release.
For Malaysia market, the price of the Galaxy Note 9 will start at RM3699 for the 6GB RAM + 128GB storage configuration, while the 8GB RAM + 512GB configuration costs a whopping RM900 more at RM4599, and they will be available online and in-stores on 24th August 2018.
