Palm returning device could be a budget phone called Pepito

Palm, another veteran mobile phone brand that has been out of the scene for quite some time, is rumored to make a come back later this year with its TCL-produced budget smartphone called the Pepito.

FCC filings of the device have been spotted by the folks over at Android Police, and it points to a model number PVG100 which will run Android 8.1 Oreo. The interesting part is, this device only supports WiFi 2.4Ghz, which is a common practice only sported in very low end devices in recent time.

The phone itself isn’t the only device in the filing though, as another “companion device” is also included in it. Details is vague at the moment about what exactly is that mysterious device, or if it even IS a device at all.

It is always nice to see more competitors joining in the fun, especially when the competitors have a good track record before, such as Palm. Stay tuned as we scoop up more details in the future.
