Mi Max 3 officially launched in China with Snapdragon 636
Xiaomi Mi Max 3 has officially launched in China. The Mi Max 3 is a promising phablet that succeeds the Mi Max 2. Mi Max 3 comes with exciting upgraded compared to its predecessor.
Large gets larger. Mi Max 3 comes with a large 6.9inch full view display that carries the resolution of 2160*1080 with an aspect ratio of 18:9. The display is configured with 1500:1 contrast ratio and 84% NTSC color gamut. The edges of the display has 2.5D curve.
It is not a surprise element that the Mi Max 3 has equipped Snapdragon 636 as seen on the Redmi Note 5. Mi Max 3 is an enlarged version of Redmi Note 5 that comes with improved specifications. For storage, the device comes with choices of 4GB or 6GB LPDDR4X RAM + 64GB or 128GB eMMC 5.1 storage, plus it is further expandable via microSD.
For imaging, the rear camera is using the same module as the Redmi Note 5 of 12MP Sony IMX363 (1.4µm pixel size, f/1.9 aperture, dual PD focus, LED flash) + 5MP sensor. Moving to the Selfie Shooter is a single 8MP lenses paired with LED flash and configured with 1.12µm pixel size & f/2.0 aperture. The AI-powered camera feature can also adapt to 206 different scenes and change how it takes the photo.
The device also continue to offer dual amp stereo speakers. Fueled up the device is a relatively large 5500mAh battery that supports QC3.0 and reverse charging.
For connectivity, it has an USB Type-C port, 3.5mm headphone jack, Hybrid Dual SIM of a nanoSIM and nanoSIM + microSD. The device supports Dual 4G VoLTE, 2.4GHz/5GHz Wi-Fi 802.11ac MIMO, Bluetooth 5, GPS and GLONASS and IR Sensor,
Out of the box, the device run Android 8.1 and MIUI10. It will be offering Xiaomi’s XiaoAI virtual assistant in China, and presumably Google Assistant if it launched in other markets.
For pricing, the device is retailed as follow:
- 4GB RAM + 64GB storage for CNY 1699 (RM1023)
- 6GB RAM + 128GB storage for CNY 1999 (RM1203)
It comes in three colour options that consist of Meteorite Black, Dream Gold and Dark Blue. The device will be officially available for purchase in China this July 20.
