Huawei invites Nova 2 Plus users to join as EMUI 8.0 beta tester

More good news will greet HUAWEI customers in the month of May as HUAWEI announces that the EMUI 8.0 beta tester is now available for HUAWEI nova 2 Plus. Launched in 2017, HUAWEI nova 2 Plus came with 20MP front camera with a generous 128GB storage. Dedicated for young and dynamic consumers who lead an active lifestyle, HUAWEI nova 2 Plus is one of the premium smartphones amongst the family of nova.

Coupled with the EMUI 8.0 update, it will allow users to optimise the performance of the smartphone. EMUI 8.0 enables the phone to predict users’ intentions, and provide intelligent recommendation to the function that users need to improve overall efficiency.

Users of the HUAWEI nova 2 plus can receive the beta testing via the steps below:

How to join:

  • Download the beta app into the smartphone
  • Click on the icon to start the app
  • Please accept terms and conditions
  • Users are required to login with their HUAWEI ID to use this tool
  • If the user has no HUAWEI ID, they are required to apply for a new account by email or mobile phone number


Problem feedback:

During the beta testing, if users encounter any problems:

  • Go to ”Report” page and select the module which is related to the problem
  • Input all necessary details about the problem and submit
  • When users submit the problem, the app will prompt you if you are agreeable to upload log when you are not connected to WIFI, which users can select their preference


Quit the BETA:

  • Select the app and login
  • In the app, select “Personal” -> “Join Project” -> “Available Project
  • Then select the project which you have joined and select “Sign out
  • Upon submitting the exit, HUAWEI will dispose user’s application within 48 hours
  • Users will not receive any BETA notification afterwards

For a recap, the nova 2 Plus sports a 5.5″ Full HD display that’s embodied with a full metal unibody exterior. Under the hood, it is powered by a Kirin 659 processor that is paired with 4GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage. Besides its 20MP selfie camera, the Nova 2 Plus also offera dual-cameras with a 12MP main camera and a secondary 8MP shooter for telephoto. The device weighs 169g with a thickness of 6.9mm.

It uses a 3,340mAh size battery that charges via USB Type-C. It also has a rear fingerprint scanner and runs on EMUI 5.1 based on Android 7.0.
