Hands on : Lenovo S860 – The Giant Battery ‘Monster’

Here comes the brand new giant battery Android Smartphone by Lenovo – S860 that was just announced at MWC 2014, Barcelona a few months ago. Now, this Lenovo S860 is currently available in Malaysia and selling at the RRP RM 1169.

This Lenovo S860 is catching people’s eyes that it is built-in with a very large 4000mAh battery, providing a long battery life that guarantees a long hours of usages. It also comes with the OTG (on-to-go) feature which allows you to charge another devices from this Lenovo S860 itself. And so, this phone can be considered as an combination of smartphone and power bank. According to the information provided by Lenovo, this S860 could provide a long lasting standby time of 28.5 days (2G communication) and 40 days (3G communication). In addition, the best talk time is 43 hours with 2G and 24 hours with 3G.
It is powered by the MTK 6852M 1.3Ghz Quad-core processor with 2GB RAM and a non-expandable 16GB storage, running on Android 4.3 Jelly Bean (upgradable to Android 4.4 KitKat in future). It comes with a 8MP rear camera and a 1.6MP front facing camera.

This Lenovo S860 is coming with a 5.3” IPS Display with 277 ppi and a resolution of 1280 x 720. It is decent enough to provide a bright and clear visuals with good color saturation and wide viewing angle.

The size of this phone body is 149.5 x 77 x 10.3 mm (5.89 x 3.03 x 0.41 in) which is quite similar to the size of Samsung Galaxy Note 3. This might be kinda big for those who have small hands.

The brushed finish metal back cover of the S860 is incredibly comfortable holding in hand. To compare with its predecessor Lenovo P780, the design of Lenovo S860 seems to be much more stylish and outstanding.
At the left side of the S860, we could find the SIM card slot that allow user to put in Dual SIM cards. 
At the right side, we could find a power button and also the volume buttons.
